Mt. Shosha Hiking-Information Tours and Travel-7:00 AM

Enjoy a gondola ride to the top of the mountain where the temples are located. A couple of the temples were filmed in "The Last Samurai". While you are there, enjoy hiking and exploring through the temple village.

Three Peaks Hiking Trip-Outdoor Recreation-8:00 AM

Come join Outdoor Recreation on a scenic hike at Three Peaks.
Enjoy the scenery and quiet surroundings of Hiroshima's rural area around Mikura Mountain. This hike is rated moderate to difficult, which is geared for experienced hikers in good physical condition. Bring your own snacks, sack lunch, and water. Yen should also be brought; time permitting, we will stop at a small store on the return. Under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
Registration begins one month in advance.

Every Saturday, Sunday and Holiday at 2 PM, the Marine Lounge hosts its weekly Pool Tournaments. Saturdays are Nine-Ball Tournaments and Sundays are Eight-Ball Tournaments. There is a $5 entry fee and cash prizes are awarded to 1st and 2nd places. Open to all base personnel ages 18 and older. See you there!

The Marine Lounge is hosting its One-on-One Ping-Pong Tournament. Best two out of three matches for 11 points. Trophies and t-shirts will be awarded to 1st and 2nd places. Kochi Castle & Sunday Market-Information Tours and Travel-6:00 AM

Kochi castle, built in 1601 by the feudal lord of the region, Kazutoyo Yamauchi, gives you a magnificent view. There will be as many as 650 small stalls selling local vegetables, fruits, flowers, antiques and plants at the Sunday Market. We will take you to the beautiful Katsurahama beach as an optional tour.

Hachigamine Rose Festival-Information & Referral-9:00 AM

Hachigamine Park in Waki town
Hachigamine Park is well known as a recreational place and a beautiful rose garden. They will be celebrating the blooming fragrant roses on this day. There is also a flea market. Come out and enjoy the fragrance. In case of heavy rain, it may be postponed to May 27.

Free childcare is provided at the Child Development Center and the School Age Center.
