Runs from Thursday, Feb 9 2012 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM
We finally know what is different about couples that stay happily married!
We finally know what is different about couples that stay happily married!
It isn’t that they are better-looking, more in love, more committed or more passionate than couples that divorce. It isn’t that they have fewer differences or less to fight about.
In fact, successful couples have the same number of disagreements as the couples who divorce and all couples disagree about all the same basic issues-money, kids, sex, housework, in-laws and leisure time.
The difference between successful and unsuccessful couples is how they handle the differences.
Successful couples disagree in a way that makes their marriage stronger. They also have a lot of other skills that help them build long-term happiness and satisfaction.
The good news is that anyone can learn the skills to stay happily married.
Purpose of Married and Loving It!
1. Help couples identify communication skills including love languages.
2. Give couples guidelines for establishing a sound financial future.
3. Identify why we get angry and determine procedures for conflict resolution in a marriage.
4. Discuss the role of in-laws, how we spend our time, complete household tasks, and other factors that help couples enjoy married life.
