Computer Policy

All patrons are eligible to use the computers in the library once they have signed an Internet use agreement and registered in our database. Only patrons with no outstanding overdue materials may use computers. Two computers offer resume preparation programs for job hunters.

Borrowing privileges

The library is open to military personnel, civilian employees, retirees, and their family members. JMSDF, MLC, and IHA employees are welcome as well. One patron card per family is maintained on file. Each patron is allowed to check out eight items per family member for a three week period. Children under 18 years old not accompanied by an adult may check out only eight items. To renew, borrowed materials must be brought to the library. Interlibrary loan books and books on reserve may not be renewed. Lost or damaged books must be replaced. Our staff asks for your cooperation before PCSing: please clear with the library and return all borrowed materials before departing the air station.

Overdue Policy

First and second overdue notices are sent to individuals through the sponsor. The third overdue notice is sent to the sponsor’s SNCOIC. The fourth notice is sent to the sponsors OIC. Although fines are not charged for overdue materials, no person on the family card may check out materials until the overdue items are returned. Sponsors are asked to report changes of address or telephone number. The sponsor is responsible for all borrowed material.
